DetailsOur 6" x 6" decorative bamboo box has a beautiful rippled lid made from impressions of giant kelp fronds. The handle is formed from a perfect little spiral shell. We like it best it best in this bright silver but if you have another color in mind let us know.
Sometimes the mold making process is a two or three step affair. Since many of the items we use are too delicate to make good impressions we use a couple of tricks to get the desired result On a number of pieces featuring leaves we like to emphasize the veins by showing them in the negative rather than the positive. And with others like the giant kelp we end up making rubber kelp because in its natural state it is too wet and slippery to press into clay.
The interior dimensions are 5 3/8" x 5 3/8" x 2". -
