DetailsThere is a path across the creek from my house that is near San Quentin prison. We call it the windsurfing beach between San Quentin and the Ferry terminal, also known as Remillard Park. The eroded stumps that line the edge of the water have always caught my eye. With clay and a mallet, I came at low tide to take impressions from one particular stump. With a great deal of cutting and pasting, I arrived at an 8" x 42" mold of a beautiful piece of eroded driftwood. To make these wall hangings I support and curve the mold, the cast multiple sections which are cut into curves and glued together. They are wired on the back and can be hung both vertically and horizontally.
If you have a particular space in mind, I can create a custom size as well as color to suit. Send me a picture and I can make a photoshop rendering to show what the piece would look like in your space. -
